You know the Egyptian mummies, it's from their religion.
The "accidently" made mummies are the people who died in very cold places, such as Antartica and the Artic. They died possibly of lead, which was found on the seal of the food tin cans they brought, causing them to be unable to think or unable to move. Such as this:
That is John Harnell, an explorer who froze to death in the Arctic.
The "not-meant-to-be" mummies are the deceased people who were buried in caves by their relatives, who didn't mean to make them into mummies. They became mummies due to the very cold or very dry climate which stops bacteria from growing on it and rotting it (bacterias need air and water to grow) by either drying the body up or making an air tight space.
But some deceased people were filled, injected, etc, with chemicals which makes their bodies look real and "alive". One such famous mummy is Rosalia Lombardo, who died at age 2 more than 96 years ago, but still looked like as if she's taking a nap. Her father was so heartbroken over her death until he asked a doctor named Alfredo Salafia to mummify her (in this case make her body look real). We don't know how is the procedure of "chemicaling" her, as Mr. Alfredo no longer lives today.
She's often nicknamed "the sleeping beauty"
